During the June Holidays, Joel, Shaoxuan, Shengyang and Yuhann took some time off to work on the A.R. Drone. Using their knowledge in Labview and with the guidance of an engineer from NI (Kwok How), the team has managed to incorporate certain basic colour recognition capabilities into the drone. EPISODE 3: NATIONAL DAY SHOWCASE - FROM SETBACKS TO COMEBACKS

Initially, the team intended to showcase the drone to the school population for the first time during National Day Celebrations on 8th August. The idea was to attach a mini national flag to the drone and fly it across the audience, similar to how it is done using the military's helicopters during National Day Parade! Repeated uncontrolled crashes - we have no idea why the drone loses signal and control all of a sudden by itself - from a high altitude (2 to 3 stories high) damaged parts of the drone, rendering it unworkable. To the team's disappointment, the plan was forced to be cancelled and the students had to pull out of the National Day Celebrations showcase.

A week later, the team was back at work. After spending some time taking apart the insides of the drone and studying it, the team managed to pinpoint the faulty ultrasound sensor as the culprit behind the failure. The team subsequently managed to repair one out of the two drones.
